The Assistive Aid Grant (AAG) is financial assistance from the JCPD that helps its registered clients purchase assistive and adaptive aids and accessories, and access therapy services, so they can live more independently. The grant provides funding up to Three Hundred Thousand Jamaican Dollars (JMD $300,000). Applications must include an invoice no older than six months outlining the goods or services required, together with a supporting letter or report from a clinician, therapist, social worker or other professional recommending the item or service. If the cost exceeds the grant maximum, the applicant covers the balance, and proof of the applicant’s own contribution — receipts or an approved supplier payment plan — must be submitted. Support for rehabilitation or therapy is provided up to a maximum of 10 sessions.
Persons with disabilities, or their caregivers, registered with the JCPD who need therapy or an assistive aid or device to support daily functioning.
